Creating a New Horse Show

Overview

Make sure that you are properly logged in with your admin credentials.

Click or tap on the button for New Show from your tenant page. Got a pre-existing show you’d like to use? Try copying a past show.

Follow the steps to add your basic show information. Only fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required fields.

Pro Tips

  • It’s helpful to upload your prize list and stall chart PDFs, but its not mandatory to get started. Come back to this later!

  • Don’t worry about adding Show Officials unless it is important for results reporting purposes (such as USEF rated competitions)

  • Review our recommendations on creating and managing your Horse Show Names.

Handling of Prize Money

Do you issue prize money? Do you want to keep it from being automatically deducted?

By default, prize money will be deducted from an entry's balance. When this box is checked, any prize money earned will not be deducted from the balance. Funds would need to be disbursed as payouts.

Pro Tips

  • Not offering any prize money? Leave this box unchecked and move on.

  • Offering prize money? Most shows deduct prize money from the entry’s balance automatically. Leave this box unchecked UNLESS you handle prize money differently.

Allow Multiple Entries For Same Horse

Want to give each rider their own entry number?

By default, Horse Spot prevents you from entering the same horse into the show more than once. By checking this box, Horse Spot will allow multiple entries for the same horse. This is useful if you would like to assign entry number based on rider, not horse.

Pro Tips

  • Issuing one entry number per rider is AWESOME for a lot of unrated shows where riders are sharing horses. Everyone has their own registration and check out process, instead of sharing. It’s a better experience for exhibitors and parents, and its more efficient for secretaries and organizers.

  • Don’t choose this option if you are running a USEF rated show as it may impact results reporting.
