Give your show a name!
Here are some bullet points to get your creative juices flowing:
Add the season to your name. Example: Kentucky Spring Fling
Add the discipline to your name if you’d like! Example: Run O' the Mill Pony Club Hunter/Jumper Show
This is not necessary as Horse Spot will improve filters for different discipline types.
Add your show management name, association acronym, or farm name to your show. Example: ECRA Spring Fiesta
Get creative with it! Use seasonal or catchy phrases that will grab exhibitor’s attention. Example: Marigold's Summer On My Mind Show
Hosting a rated or schooling show? Make that a part of the name. Example: Oaklawn Farm May Schooling Show or The Ridge Week 12: USEF Jumpers & Equitation
Have an official sponsor? Make sure to include them in the name! Example: Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event
Hosting a charitable show? Add the name “Charity” to it to let exhibitors know.

What to add/What not to add!
You do not have to add the following to your show name as Horse Spot displays this information already.
You don’t have to add the venue name to your show name (ie: Kentucky Horse Park)
If you were naming your show “Spring Fling at the Kentucky Horse Park”—we would suggest shortening it to “Spring Fling”
It’s not required to add the city name, unless it’s a part of your show name (ie: Lexington, Kentucky)
You may want to name your show “The Kentucky Showdown” for example but it’s not required to include this in your show name if you don’t want to—users will get the proper information displayed to them including the name of the venue and where the show is located (including the city and state).
Do not add specific dates to show names (ie: May 11th-13th)
You may decide you want to add the year if it’s a part of an official annual event. For example, the NCEA refers to their annual championship as the, “National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship 2025”. They wouldn’t have called their show the “National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship April 16-19th 2025” for example because that information is already displayed on Horse Spot.
Pro Tip:
Avoid naming your show something like, “Summer Sweetness August 9th-11th”—creating redundancies in the user experience. Use something simpler and shorter such as, “Summer Sweetness”. Need more support naming your show? Reach out to the Horse Spot squad.
Have a Series?
Consider adding numbers to the end to help users track which show they are attending. You can use any of the examples below. We recommend sticking to one type of naming convention to help users understand the nomenclature you’ve setup for your show. For example, don’t name one show Plantation Spring Horse Show I and the second one Plantation Spring Horse Show Week 2. Consistency is key!
Plantation Spring Horse Show I
Plantation Spring Horse Show II
Charleston Spring Fling: Week 1
Charleston Spring Fling: Week 2
